Welcome to the State of Nevada Board of Occupational Therapy

The State Board of Occupational Therapy was established in 1993 under the provisions of NRS Chapter 640A to protect the public health, safety and welfare by ensuring that only competent and scrupulous persons practice occupational therapy in the State and persons who practice occupational therapy maintain an appropriate standard of professional conduct.

The Board is responsible for the administration, regulation and enforcement of the practice of occupational therapy in Nevada. The Board licenses qualified occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants and regulates the professional practice of occupational therapy throughout the State.

Mission Statement

To protect the public health, safety and welfare by ensuring that only competent occupational therapy practitioners are licensed in the state and that those licensed practitioners maintain the highest standard of professional conduct. This includes ensuring the competency of occupational therapy practitioners by requiring continuing education and to provide the public with a means by which they can pursue administrative legal recourse.
